From a workforce of seven employees five years ago, Spark Systems now has 50.

For its efforts to push the boundaries of the fintech industry, the company won the Monetary Authority of Singapore Fintech (Founder of Singapore) Award at the Singapore Fintech Festival (SFF) in 2017, and was named a Fintech Employer of the Year at SFF Global FinTech. Awards last year.
Evolve for the world
In the long term, Wong sees Spark Systems growing to a scale where it can plant the Singapore flag on the global currency trading map. It also aims to be one of the leading platforms for banks, hedge funds, and brokerages around the world.
“FX platforms are global in nature. Therefore, the incumbents we face are giants and fierce competitors,” he notes. “There are risks, and this is no walk in the park.”
It helps that Singapore is a major start-up incubator where talent, capital and innovation can come together to help SMEs thrive.
“To emerge victorious, we will have to be smarter and more agile than the competition,” he stresses. “We can succeed or fail, but it’s a challenge worth taking on.”
