Robinhood Stock Trading App Teases Possible New Feature, Could Add Crypto Wallet

The Robinhood cryptocurrency and stock trading app asked its Twitter followers to let it know what feature of the product they “would love to see” on the popular platform, and why would they want it. ‘it includes a crypto wallet. This investigation sparked speculation that the brokerage app was testing new features and could launch a cryptocurrency wallet and allow transfers of these virtual currencies. Robinhood said last week “we fully intend” to allow withdrawals and deposits of crypto coins.

Currently, traders can buy and sell crypto coins such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin, using the app. But once the new features and the wallet go live, they could also manage all of their crypto holdings through an in-app wallet.

Since the start of the survey, many people have commented on the post and Robinhood has responded to some of them.

One user boldly requested that he allow us to “void transactions”. Taking the answer in his mind, Robinhood responded with a GIF of a man sitting in a chair and appearing to make a serious interjection to an ongoing debate. The text read: “Why would you say something so controversial and yet so courageous?”

It is not clear if this feature was considered by Robinhood. Additionally, no official information is available on when Robinhood plans to release new features. Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev previously said adding a crypto wallet was a priority.

A user also asked Robinhood to list the Shiba Inu coin, a cryptocurrency based on memes like Dogecoin, on its platform.

Bloomberg had reported that Robinhood was testing new features as part of a long-awaited move that would make it easier for customers to send and receive crypto coins.

Once crypto wallets are available on the app, consumers will be able to use virtual currencies without having to convert them to dollars. They would also offer customers a single place to store their cryptocurrencies, protected by a private key.
